Your Windows in the Cloud
Harness the power and security of the cloud with the flexibility and ease of a PC.
Windows 11 Enterprise serves as an upgrade to Windows Pro and can be licensed through various options: Windows Enterprise per device, Windows Enterprise E3 per user, or Windows Enterprise E5 per user. Even if users do not have Windows Pro devices for upgrade, they can still license Windows Enterprise for remote virtualization scenarios using the Windows VDA E3 or E5 license.
The Windows 11 Enterprise edition includes all the features of Windows 11 Pro, with additional functionalities specifically designed for IT-focused organizations.
Windows 11 introduces significant changes to the Windows interface, influenced by the canceled Windows 10X. These include a revamped Start menu, a separate “Widgets” panel on the taskbar, the ability to create tiled sets of windows that can be minimized and restored as a group, and new gaming technologies such as Auto HDR and DirectStorage (on compatible hardware). Internet Explorer has been replaced by the Chromium-based Microsoft Edge as the default browser, similar to Windows 10, and Microsoft Teams is integrated into the Windows shell. Microsoft also plans to offer more flexibility in software distribution via the Microsoft Store and to support Android apps on Windows 11 through a partnership with Amazon.
Due to security considerations, the system requirements for Windows 11 are more stringent than those for Windows 10. The OS is officially supported on devices with an eighth-generation Intel Core CPU or newer (with some exceptions), AMD Ryzen CPU based on Zen+ microarchitecture or newer, or a Qualcomm Snapdragon 850 ARM system-on-chip or newer, and requires UEFI secure boot and TPM 2.0 enabled (with possible exceptions for OEMs). Although Windows 11 can be installed on unsupported processors, Microsoft does not guarantee updates for such systems. Support for 32-bit x86 CPUs and BIOS firmware has been discontinued.
